Our goal was to create a range of affordable, nutritious dog food, to suit all types, ages, and breeds of dog with various dietary requirements. Each range or dog food has a specialised formula for puppies, senior, large & small dogs with a variety of tasty recipes to cater for all budgets, from our base working dog kibble all the way up to our complete Elite dog food range.
We have dedicated many hours of research into creating a range of nutritious dog food that meet the needs of as many dogs as possible. Our Classic dog food range benefits from a choice of hypoallergenic recipes, specially formulated without common food allergens. Our Superior range of dog food has been formulated for dogs with grain intolerances. If you have a dog with a sensitive digestive system, you may find our Classic dog food range may be best. We also have our Elite dog food range which has been formulated with 65% of the finest freshly prepared raw meat or fish and cooked using our unique Freshtrusion™ process.
Each range of Topguard dog food contains a total percentage of ethically sourced meat or fish content. We don’t use nasty derivatives or processed meat and the ingredients we source come from trusted suppliers. We use the finest cuts of the fresh animal or fish that has undergone rigorous testing to ensure there is no metal or bones in it before the cooking process. We never add any artificial colours & preservatives as all our dog food is preserved using natural rosemary extract due to its high antioxidant and anti-microbial activities.
Our Elite dog food range contains 65% total meat content, which is made up of 35% of the finest cuts of freshly prepared meat or fish, 30% dry meat or fish, a rich gravy full of goodness and human grade oils/fats which are used to coat the kibble. This is then combined with a nutritious range of Superfoods including vegetables, fruit and herbs for a highly nutritious and tasty complete meal.
Our Superior dog food range contains 50% total meat content, which is made up of 26% of the finest cuts of freshly prepared meat or fish, 24% dry meat or fish, a rich gravy full of goodness and human grade oils/fats which are used to coat the kibble. This is then combined with Sweet Potato or White Potato and vegetables, fruit and herbs for a healthy, hearty dog food packed with goodness.
The protein in our Hypoallergenic Classic dog food range varies depending on the recipe. This is between 25% and 40% total dry meat content, a rich gravy full of goodness and human grade oils/fats which are used to coat the kibble. This is then combined with Rice or Potato and vegetables for a balanced nutritious food.
We are Topguard Feeds, part of the Topguard Kennels. We are a family run business with a love and passion for breeding South African Boerboels based in Horsham, West Sussex. We have been bringing top quality Boerboels into the world since 2003, so it goes without saying, we have spent considerable time and effort researching and fine tuning the diets of our many generations of dogs to ensure maximum health and well-being.
Alongside breeding, working, and showing our dogs, conditioning our Boerboels is of utmost importance. Over the years many of us have become more conscious about what we eat, so it’s only right that we adopt the same approach for our pets. With a lifetime of experience behind us, it seemed only natural, that the next step, was for us to produce our own brand of award-winning dog food.
